Save your money!! This school is not worth $20,000 a year. If you want to play softball, go somewhere else. They will not put any money into the softball program and I know this first hand. They claim they will do everything but actually do nothing. They will not fix the field, they hire one guy to coach softball and basketball which is impossible because the season's overlap. They sign players and give them a $750 scholarship and the other $19,000 is left up to you. If you sign a "letter of intent" its possible they will never honor it. This college is all about the money, plain and simple. They tell kids and parents all the things that they will do just to get them enrolled, once enrolled they do nothing. My daughter left 24 days into the second semester and they still charged us almost $2500. Her reason for leaving was the softball program fell through.
They require you to purchase a meal plan and schedule your classes to where you miss meals. We brought this to there attention and nothing was ever done. The girls dorm is full of black mold and is way out of date.
Not here for the Educational service's just the Disc Golf course, it has #18 holes, different/longer tee's for the #10-18 holes, same baskets though. I thoroughly enjoy the course, it's a little over 20 minutes from my house & it's a welcomed break from Loudon DGC.
Don't live on the past and "stories" you hear about HC, experience it for yourself! College is what you make you, and that does not matter where you decide to go. #HCPRIDE #GOTIGERS
I have been involved and around HC since 2009. In 2009 it was in a tremendously dark place, but there was light shining through. I was offered a basketball scholarship to another school at the end of my freshman year, but for some reason I would not leave HC. Today, 2015, I am grateful that I did not take the scholarship and stayed. Yes, HC has had its downfalls and failures BUT it has much more ups and success stories. After graduating with my Associates and Bachelors I went on to receive my Masters Degree this past Spring. Without the push, encouragement, and help from those at HC, there is NO way I would have ever went back and received my Masters. HC is not just a college it is a family, a family that is there for you in the good times and the bad times. I am so glad that I have had the opportunity to help improve and turn around the Women's Basketball Program along side Jack Brownfield! Finally, without HC I would not have met my fiance, Landon Brady, and we would not be getting married in August of this year, and receiving a tremendous opportunity as a couple!
The school has a new president and direction. I would highly recommend it. They have had vast improvement and it's a great education!
This school is poorly managed with an upper administration that has illustrated poor ethics and does not practice the values that it proposes to teach its students. Upper management makes knee jerk decisions, does not support nor particularly care about its faculty and proves this through the detached position that they take when making decisons that impact the school as a whole. They also, in an attempt to save money, employ recently graduated students who are unqualified to teach to lead and teach classes. They are not honest with their staff and they are not honest with their students or students parents. I would not work here not would I send my child here. Parents you can get a much better education for your child elsewhere.
I'm not being bitter just stating the facts. If your going to spend that kind of money there are a lot better schools.
